In order to discuss Bhubaneswar’s preparation as one of the locations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey and secretary general Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran met with the chief minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik.

The two AIFF representatives also spoke with Vineel Krishna, the secretary of Sports Odisha, on the infrastructure services that the city of Bhubaneswar will offer to the World Cup teams.

They spoke extensively about Bhubaneswar’s preparation as one of the three locations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and praised Krishna and the Chief Minister for their ongoing support of Indian football.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 appears to be in good hands in Bhubaneswar. I’m overjoyed to visit our U-17 Women’s Team at KIIT and speak with the players and coaching team as they get ready for a historic World Cup run,” added Chaubey.

He stated, “I had the opportunity to congratulate Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ji directly for the excellent support his administration is offering to football in general, and for hosting the U-17 Women’s World Cup in particular.

“This visit to Odisha has provided us the opportunity to connect with all stakeholders of football in Odisha, and our effort would be to further develop and broaden the foundation of our cooperation between the Government of Odisha and the AIFF,” said AIFF Secretary General Dr. Prabhakaran.

Upon their arrival in Cuttack, Chaubey and Prabhakaran also received congratulations from the Football Association of Odisha (FAO), for which they were very appreciative.

The AIFF President added, “It was a very fruitful visit to Odisha, and I would like to convey my gratitude to the FAO office bearers for assisting us in Cuttack and giving us the chance to meet with all stakeholders.

“FAO actively promotes the growth of football, including through the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Odisha has a fantastic possibility to become one of India’s premier women’s football destinations, according to Prabhakaran.

Mr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, also honoured the AIFF President and Secretary General and thanked him for helping the India U-17 Women’s Team in their preparation for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022.

In order to motivate the India U-17 Women’s Team ahead of their important campaign, the CM Naveen Patnaik, Kalyan Chaubey, Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran, Vineel Krishna, and Achyuta Samanta also visited with the team’s players and officials.
