The Odisha government has stepped up preparations for the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, with the financial assistance scheduled to be disbursed from Nayagarh on August 28, coinciding with Rakhi Purnima.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida chaired a high-level preparatory meeting at the conference hall of the Women and Child Development Department in Loka Seva Bhawan on Thursday.

The meeting reviewed the administrative, banking and technological arrangements required to ensure the timely transfer of funds to beneficiaries.

Women and Child Development Commissioner-cum-Secretary Dr Mrinalini Darswal, the department’s Additional Secretary, the Chief Executive Officer of the Odisha Computer Application Centre, the Chief Regional Manager of Indian Overseas Bank and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Focus on Seamless Direct Benefit Transfer

Parida directed officials and banking representatives to complete every stage of the Direct Benefit Transfer process within the stipulated timeframe.

She emphasised the need for close coordination among the Women and Child Development Department, banks and technology teams so that beneficiaries receive the assistance without delay.

Officials were instructed to identify and resolve technical or banking issues before the disbursement date.

The Deputy Chief Minister also called for strengthening the banking system and ensuring adequate support for beneficiaries who may encounter transaction-related problems.

Nayagarh to Host Instalment Distribution

The fifth instalment will be formally disbursed at a programme in Nayagarh on August 28.

The selection of Rakhi Purnima for the payout gives the programme special significance, as preparations move forward for the large-scale transfer of financial assistance.

The review meeting examined different aspects of the disbursement process, including beneficiary data, banking readiness, DBT coordination and arrangements for resolving grievances.

Beneficiary Convenience Given Priority

Parida made it clear that beneficiaries should not face inconvenience while receiving the instalment.

Departments and financial institutions have been directed to maintain operational readiness and respond promptly to issues arising during the transfer process.

The Odisha government’s coordinated preparations are intended to ensure that the fifth Subhadra instalment reaches eligible beneficiaries securely and on schedule.

With the disbursement date finalised and senior officials assigned clear responsibilities, the state administration has entered the final stage of preparations for the August 28 payout.
