Announces Free Textbooks for Classes 9 and 10 in Odisha Government Schools

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday urged young people to remain vigilant against forces seeking to divide society and damage India’s reputation internationally.

Addressing the state-level function in Bhubaneswar after hoisting the National Flag, Majhi said certain forces operating within and outside the country were attempting to weaken national unity.

The Chief Minister alleged that young people were being deliberately targeted because of their critical role in shaping India’s future. He called upon them to think independently and avoid distractions that could affect their education and careers.

“Do not get influenced by anyone or waste your time and energy. Focus on your career first. That should be your top priority,” Majhi said.

He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained committed to protecting the country’s interests and was taking steps to address the challenges faced by young people.

Majhi advised students and young professionals to devote their energy to education, skill development and nation-building. He said a focused and responsible younger generation would be essential to India’s continued progress.

Free Textbooks for Government-School Students

During the programme, the Chief Minister announced that students studying in Classes 9 and 10 at state-run schools would receive textbooks free of cost.

The measure is expected to reduce educational expenses for families and ensure that secondary-school students have access to the books required for their studies.

Majhi also reflected on India’s freedom struggle and paid tribute to those whose sacrifices secured the country’s independence.

He highlighted the country’s progress under the present national leadership and outlined the Odisha government’s vision for building a prosperous and developed state under its Viksit Odisha road map.

The Chief Minister called upon young people to uphold national unity, concentrate on their careers and contribute constructively to the development of Odisha and India.
