Bhubaneswar, November 26: Public Bicycle Sharing (PBS) project ‘Mo Cycle’ and ‘Mo Cycle’ mobile app will be launched in Odisha capital by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

As many as 1000 bicycles have been made available in the first phase, which will be stationed at 120 points across the city. Citizens can avail the facility by paying Rs 100 per month while the ride for first 30 minutes will be free of cost.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has laid 3-feet wide bicycle tracks painted in red across the city. The bicycles will be digitally mapped based on global positioning system (GPS) locations.

The project will provide mobile app based services to users to locate and use a bicycle. The bicycles are also fitted with smart locks, which can be opened through mobile application by the users.

Citizens from all over including the capital smart city have welcomed the new initiative and congratulated Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and mayor Ananta Narayan Jena . Since riding bicycle was the first love of adventurous pilot Biju Patnaik , who had traveled by cycle with his friends from Bhubaneswar to Peswar , the new scheme will encourage sons of the soil to make daring adventuress .
