According to data recently made available by the National Crime Records Bureau, Odisha had the most molestation instances in the nation in 2021. (NCRB).
According to the report, at least 41 women were attacked or molested daily in the state, which is a national record.
One lakh women live in the state, and 227 of them are victims of assault. However, the NCRB reported that 14,891 women in Odisha as a whole were molested in 2021.
In terms of molestation cases, Maharashtra came in second place last year with 10,578 cases, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 9,703 cases.
In the state of California in 2021, 31,352 incidences of crime against women were reported.
In the state, 12 women were murdered after being raped or gang-raped. In Odisha, there were 1,456 reported rape crimes involving women older than 18 in 2021.
Additionally, police stations around the state received 5,178 reports of kidnappings of women.
Last year, Odisha reported 293 dowry fatalities and 5488 dowry-related injuries. In the state in 2021, there were three victims of acid attacks.
Additionally, the state reported 18 cases of child pornography and 1871 occurrences of rape of young girls and toddlers.
