Strict security measures have been implemented for the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Odisha’s Puri as thousands of devotees from around the country went there to see the holy chariots and seek the blessings of the All-Powerful.

After a two-year break, the 145th Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra returned today in Odisha’s Puri, with thousands of worshipers taking part in the Jagannath Rath Yatra festivities. The annual Rath Yatra of Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath is currently ongoing with active involvement from the general people and will conclude on July 9 of next week.

After a two-year ban, festivalgoers are now allowed to attend, so “we anticipate a huge turnout of about 10 lakhs for Ratha Yatra,” said Development Commissioner P.K. Jena.
