On the evening of June 25th Kabi Ananta Patnaik Srujan Samman on behalf of Utkal Sahitya Samaj and Kabi Ananta Patnaik Smruti Committee, the oldest literary institution in Cuttack, organized a celebration in memory of Anant Patnaik, a renowned poet of Odia pragmatist poetry. The event took place at Sriramchandra Bhavan of Uttara Sahitya Samaj, with esteemed poet Jayanta Mohapatra as the chief guest.
During the occasion, Shri. Prasanta Patnaik, a highly acclaimed senior and famous media personality, was honored with the Anant Patnaik Memorial Award. This prestigious recognition was a testament to his remarkable contributions in the field. In his acceptance speech, Prasanta Patnaik expressed gratitude for the special award.
The event was presided over by Gobind Chandra Chand, President of the Literary Society, and featured Vijay Padhiari delivering a warm welcome speech. Aditya Prasad extended a heartfelt welcome to the guest of honor. The gathering also witnessed the recitation of poems by poets Deepak Samantharai, Prasanna Kumar Swayu, Mohit Chakraborty, and Sanjay Jena, who paid homage to Anant Patnaik’s literary legacy through their readings.
