In a remarkable testament to his unwavering commitment to the development of Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI), a groundbreaking public transport network program, in Malkangiri district. Malkangiri holds a special place in the Chief Minister’s heart, being the birthplace of pivotal schemes like the free rice initiative and the Biju Swatha Kalyan Yojana (BSKY). To further enhance the region’s development, CM Patnaik inaugurated the ‘Lakshmi Yojana’ during this significant event.

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, particularly women, the Chief Minister highlighted the role of Malkangiri in Odisha’s progress. He credited the region with inspiring the BSKY’s proposal of Rs 10 lakh for mothers, a scheme that has greatly benefited the people. The Lakshmi Yojana, too, stemmed from the CMO officials’ visit to Malkangiri, where they witnessed the challenges faced by the locals.

Chief Minister Patnaik expressed his belief that the LAccMI program would revolutionize the transportation system, fortify the economy, and usher in prosperity to villages across Odisha. He disclosed plans for over 1,000 buses to operate state-wide under this scheme. On the day of the launch, thirty-six buses commenced operations in Malkangiri, connecting 111 panchayats with bus services. This move has set the stage for a new wave of development in the region.

In the first phase, the Lakshmi Yojana will be implemented in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Kandhamal districts, bridging communication gaps and promoting development. Chief Minister Patnaik underscored the scheme’s potential to bring happiness to every household by facilitating easy access to essential services.

Reflecting on the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ scheme, he expressed the intent to include Malkangiri, bringing urban amenities to the village, and facilitating the spread of culture through improved banking, internet access, and digital infrastructure.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of Gurpriya Setu, considering it a significant milestone in Malkangiri’s development. The bridge, connecting the Swaviman area, has illuminated new possibilities. CM Patnaik expressed optimism that, with collective efforts, the project would be completed on schedule, further propelling Malkangiri’s growth.

State Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu, present as a guest, commended the Chief Minister’s vision, emphasizing his unwavering dedication to grassroots-level benefits.

Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi extended a warm welcome to all and acknowledged that Malkangiri has been the birthplace of several progressive schemes initiated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, thereby expressing gratitude on behalf of the district’s residents. This event underscores the Chief Minister’s dedication to transforming Malkangiri and the broader landscape of Odisha through visionary initiatives.
