The Japan government has honoured Kunna Dash, president of the Indo-Japan Friendship Center, for his excellent work in advancing the travel and tourist sectors there and abroad.

Dash was honoured as one of the greatest ambassadors of the Japan Tourism Department in India at a special event held in Kyoto, Japan. In addition to that, he has been given a three-year appointment as the global supporter of the Japanese tourism industry.

In order to honour Dash, the Mayor of Kyoto, Kadakawa Disaku, gave him the award for Global Support of the Japan Tourism Department. Dash is the first Indian to be awarded the distinguished title and position in recognition of his efforts to strengthen cultural, economic, and sociocultural relations between India and Japan.

His excellency Yamamoto Jota, Representative of the Government of Japan Ambassador in charge of Kansai, presented Dash with an official award at Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY 2020 on behalf of the Japanese Foreign Ministry for his 30 years of work to promote Japan in India. This is a prestigious honour given to a foreigner who supports Japan in their own nation.
