Puri: A high-level technical committee of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which is in Puri currently, started the inspection of the Garbha Gruha (Sactum Sanctorum) of Srimandir today.
The inspection is being undertaken taking the opportunity of Rath Yatra during which the holy trinity will give darshan to deities on Adapa Mandap in Gundicha temple till July 12. After conducting the inspection the team will suggest for the required repairing work.
A team of experts comprising of officials of ASI, Technical Core Committee of ASI, Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee , Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) along with Odisha Public Works Department (PWD) Chief Engineer.
The inspection is being undertaken after complaints of water seeping from the roof-top of the sanctum sanctorum surfaced a few months back.
During the drive, the team will also examine the roof of the inner part of ‘Natya Manda’ and ‘Garuda Pillar’.
