Last day evening around 1920hours while si Sabitri Pradhan along with other PS staff were performing evening patrolling near Banaguru square on Chitrakonda – Janbai road ascertained a motor cycle with luggage, which was coming from Janbai towards Chitrakonda. Suspecting the police team detained the vehicle and found two plastic bags containing 4kg 395 gms of contraband cannabis from the possession of the accused person. The accused person was identified as JagadisgSingh Barghai(43)of Shahdol (MP). The said article was purchased from the interior villages of Darakonda area and was transported to Madhya Pradesh. The accused person and the seized article was produced before Hon’ble Court of District Judge Cum Special Judge Malkangiri. Further investigation continues to arrest the other accused persons involved in the said case.
