Bhubaneswar: The body of a woman was found under mysterious circumstances in a car parked near Sriram Nagar Hanuman temple in Samantarapur under Lingaraj police limits in Bhubaneswar on Monday morning.
According to sources, some locals first noticed the body of the woman lying on the front seat of the vehicle (OR 02AM-2600) today morning and contacted the police. Later, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Anup Kumar Sahu and a scientific team rushed to the spot and launched a probe.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately. A cellphone, some documents, clothes and photos were seized from the car.
It is suspected that the car might have met with an accident as the front side of the car was found badly mangled. The registration number suggests that the vehicle belongs to a private company, SR Carriers.
The police sent the body to the Capital Hospital for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
