A woman who is accused of extorting money from prominent individuals including politicians and movie producers has been detained by the Commissionerate Police.

Two pendrives were taken from the accused woman after she was apprehended by Khandagiri Police in the Capital City.

According to insiders, she used to target high-profile individuals like as legislators, ministers, and movie producers and make serious accusations against them in order to demand money.

Since 2021, she has been being monitored by the police. She was the subject of at least three cases, with two of those cases coming this year.

She was seized and questioned last night at the Khandagiri police station. Two pendrives and two mobile phones were found on her during questioning, according to sources.

According to reports, she and numerous other politicians and movie producers are all represented in the two mobile phones.

She recently filed a complaint with the Laxmisagar police station, making accusations against a movie producer. She claimed that the producer used pornographic images to blackmail her.

At Nayapalli police station, the film producer had filed a counter-complaint, stating that the woman had been using his photos as ransom. He claimed that the woman had asked him for Rs. 3 crore.

According to sources, the accused woman used to meet politicians and movie makers at various locations after making friends with them on social media. She used to take pictures of her intended victims and then blackmail them with the images.

While a more thorough investigation is being conducted, the police have not released any official statements confirming the woman’s detention.
