The state Assembly’s winter session will begin today without regard to Covid-19 restrictions and will last until December 31.
The winter session will run from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to the schedule. On the first day, the House will convene at 11 a.m. The opposition BJP and Congress are preparing to target the state government over a variety of issues, including the Archana Nag honeytrap case, farmers’ issues, and ‘mandi mismanagement.’
The supplementary budget for fiscal year 2022-23 will be presented to the House on time. It will have 33 working days in total, including six private members days.
The Assembly will be protected by a three-tiered security zone overseen by the DCP of Bhubaneswar. In addition, 28 police platoons will be deployed for security. Five control rooms have already been established to monitor human movement.
