In what have been labelled “strange” circumstances, three Russians have passed away in a period of fifteen days.
Another Russian has turned up dead in Odisha, this time near the Paradip Port area on Tuesday, 3 January.
He was who?
A National Media Agency said that the dead has been identified as Sergey Milyakov, 50.
He apparently worked as a ship’s crew member on the MV Aldanah, which delivered iron ore for an Indian steel producer.
How was he killed?
The cause of the Russian national’s death is unknown, though it is believed that he suffered a heart attack.
Why it’s important: Three Russians have passed away in Odisha over the course of 15 days, all of them in what have been dubbed “strange” circumstances.
First, on December 22, 61-year-old Vladimir Bidenov was discovered dead in a hotel in Rayagada after having a stroke.
Pavel Antov, a 65-year-old sausage tycoon, supposedly passed away at the same hotel 48 hours later after suffering an unintentional fall.
Third person to pass away on the ship was Milyakov.
The criminal branch of the Odisha Police is currently looking into the incidences.
