The government of Odisha has contracted with Skyy Rider Electric Pvt Ltd, based in Bhubaneswar, to establish an EV manufacturing facility at the local government polytechnic. The Polytechnic and Skyy Rider have signed an agreement that will enable the EV eco-system and supply the facilities needed to create more than 16 different types of vehicles.
Nihar Ranjan Panda, the CEO of Skyy Rider Electric, stated that the company plans to manufacture electric vehicles for usage in public utilities, healthcare, and commercial settings. According to him, the plant will provide work for hundreds of people each year.
The government has also partnered with Aero Rovers, a State-based business that intends to revolutionise the drone sector by producing affordable, durable industrial drones in conjunction with the government polytechnic in Bhubaneswar. The collaboration will address the diverse requirements for drones in commercial, industrial, agricultural, and surveillance applications. Aero Rovers will establish a drone production and pilot training facility as well as offer practical technical expertise to polytechnic students.
According to Jajati Mohanty, CEO of Aero Rovers, “We will also collaborate to provide training to students of other educational institutions to build technical skills and make them job ready, which would ultimately produce jobs.”
Additionally, a skill development centre will be established in association with Skyy Rider Institutions Pvt Ltd. To create more than 10,000 jobs a year, the proposed centre will provide more than 80 different skill-development programmes in the fields of mechatronics, industrial robotics, software development for electric vehicles and drones, and automobiles.
