Sambalpur,Dec.23 : A tusker was today tranquilised for treatment of injuries in Padiabahal Forest Range of Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
After the tranquilisation, detailed examination and treatment of the injured male elephant was carried out by a team led by Dr Indramani Nath, Professor, Surgery, OUAT.
The pachyderm had sustained injuries during infighting among male elephants of the herd.
A leg of the animal has swollen due to dislocation of bones, a Forest official said. There is no sign of arrow or bullet injury, the official added.
