Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, on Friday unveiled “Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0,” the organization’s flagship project, in an effort to boost entrepreneurship in the state. Over the course of 60 days, the Yatra will visit more than 100 educational institutions spread across 30 districts. Its objectives include identifying women entrepreneurs and grassroots innovators as well as fostering entrepreneurship among young people.

In attendance at the event were Dr. Omkar Rai, Executive Chairman of Startup Odisha, Principal Secretary MSME Ranjana Chopra, and Secretary to CM(5T) VK Pandian. There were also more than 50 young company founders present.

ODISHA STARTUP YATRA 2.0 LAUNCH

“The Startup Yatra will expose young minds to the world of entrepreneurship and instil the culture of idea generation in the youths,” Patnaik said in a statement introducing the event.

I firmly believe that this effort will open up new entrepreneurship prospects and foster an innovative culture among young people.”

According to CM Patnaik, Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 will be essential in advancing creative ideas. “The state has a mission of 5,000 startups by 2025,” he stated.

10,000 jobs are now being created in the state by more than 1,300 recognised startups. Women entrepreneurs are in charge of 40% of the startups.

Boot camps will be held throughout the Yatra at numerous institutions throughout the state to promote idea generating and to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The concepts presented at Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 van campaigns and bootcamps will act as a catalyst in discovering concepts and innovators around the state because Odisha is the epicentre of gifted and creative minds.
