On Tuesday, tens of thousands of BJD employees flocked to the city airport road to welcome Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who had just returned from the capital after receiving the Capital Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
To welcome the party president for the achievement, the BJD leadership had made extraordinary arrangements.
The BJD leader waved the party members from the top of a special bus as it left the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).
At AG Square and other locations in Bhubaneswar, hundreds of commuters were snarled in the gridlock.
Intricate plans were devised by the Twin City police to control at least 50,000 BJD personnel and supporters.
