The Independence Day celebration will take place in Bhubaneswar at IDCO Exhibition Ground, Unit-3.
This year, the celebration of Independence Day in Odisha would be restrained because to the recent spike in Covid-19 positive cases.
There won’t be a parade, and participation from the general public will be discouraged during the Independence Day festivities.
The official notice stated, “Due to the Covid-19 epidemic in the State, the Government of Odisha has prohibited big gatherings along with various other precautionary steps to restrict the spread of the disease like previous years.
The Independence Day celebration in 2022 will take place at IDCO Exhibition Ground, Unit-3, in Bhubaneswar. The Independence Day celebration’s chief guest will be Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

- No Parade would take place.
- The Guard of Honor will be presented.
- In addition to the Police Band, three contingents from OSAP, ODRAF, BSF, and SS Battalion would take part in the event.
- The contingents attending the event will be subject to a Covid test, and they must maintain an appropriate level of social distance while there.
- The police officers stationed close to the flag post would also undergo a Covid test and put on a mask and gloves.
The I-Day celebration will continue to be managed overall by the Commissioner of Police in Bhubaneswar, who will make the required security measures in the interim.
