The superspeciality hospital and cancer centre at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, which have cutting-edge amenities and infrastructure, were officially opened by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday.
According to KIMS, the contemporary Bhubaneswar facilities will provide patients from Odisha and neighbouring states like West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand with the most cutting-edge medical care.
Health Minister Naba Kishore Das remarked, “These two institutes constitute another another milestone in quality healthcare in the state of Odisha.”
According to KIMS, the inclusion of the additional facilities will significantly improve the availability of high-quality healthcare services at a reasonable cost.
The 300-bed hospital will have 12 superspecialty departments, while the cancer centre, which will also have 300 beds and be led by renowned radiation oncologist Bidhu Kalyan Mohanti, will have five different superspecialty departments, would have 300 beds.
According to KIMS, “It is the only cancer centre in Odisha to have certain cutting-edge medical equipment.”
With the addition, KIMS now has hospitals with 1,600 beds, and the contemporary complexes will provide the most cutting-edge medical services, it was said.
