Individual champions were Subhranto Patra (5 gold medals) of Gunjam (men) and Shristi Upadhyay (4 gold medals) of Bhubaneswar (women).

At the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, the 62nd State Seniors Swimming Championship came to an end this morning.

The 23rd and 24th of August 2022 saw the two-day tournament, which was jointly organised by the Odisha State Swimming Association and the government of Odisha’s department of Sports & Youth Services. 12 swimmers, 6 men and 6 women, were chosen to represent Odisha in the National Seniors Aquatic Championship 2022 in Guwahati from September 6 through September 10, 2022, based on their performances.

These swimmers have been chosen:

Men: Amiya Kumar Pradhan, Nabin Sharma, Bikash Haripal, Subhranto Patra, Jadu Budek, and Anmol Mohanty.


Women: Shristi Upadhya, Pratyasha Ray, Mannata Mishra, Anshika Aradhana Sahoo, Dibyanka Dibya Jyoti Pradhan, and Addyasha Mishra.


Team Bhubaneswar (308 points) was crowned the group winner, and Team Sambalpur (200 points) was named the competition’s runner-up.

The Odisha delegation will travel to the National Championship in Guwahati with Olympian Shree Sandeep Sejwal and foreign coach Mr. Douglas Eager of the High-Performance Centre, Bhubaneswar, as Team Coach and Team Manager, respectively.

The fact that four swimmers met the “qualifying time criteria” established by the Swimming Federation of India is the competition’s high point.

They are Mannata Mishra in the 50, 100, and 200 metre breaststrokes. Pratyasha Ray in the 50 and 100 metres. Shristi Upadhya in 50m of backstroke. 100m freestyle and. Subhranto Patra and Butterfly will run a 100m. Butterfly (men).

The Association’s President, Working President, General Secretary, and other office holders have congratulated the chosen swimmers and expressed the hope that they will honour the state of Odisha. The Association thanked the government for providing full support for the 22nd state championship.
