The first industrialist from Odisha to serve as president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is Subhrakant Panda, managing director of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA).
Panda was named the apex chamber’s next president on Wednesday. At the conclusion of the 95th AGM, which will be place on December 16–17, he will succeed Sanjiv Mehta as the head of the chamber, according to a statement from the FICCI.
Panda has been involved with FICCI for 20 years and served as the organization’s first chairman for the state of Odisha. He presently serves as FICCI’s senior vice president.
“It’s a privilege to get the opportunity to helm this great institution at a crucial juncture. I will do my best to strengthen @ficci_india & through its various engagements contribute to the India growth story,” he tweeted.
