Bhubaneswar,28 Jan. 2019: Senior leader Srikant Jena today wrote to Congress president Rahul Gandhi raising questions over various issues including mining scam and social justice in Odisha.
In the letter, Jena sought the Congress Chief’s views on bringing the issue of mining scam in Odisha to the forefront. “I had suggested the Odisha Congress to bring the issue of mining scam to the forefront and declare that upon coming to power, will confiscate the properties of all illegal mining owners and their patrons. Do you agree on this? ,”Jena questioned.
“It shocked me that you (Rahul Gandhi) didn’t mention a single word about the mining scam. Perhaps it was because you were seated next to the kingpin of the mining scam in your Bhubaneswar meeting,” Jena stated in the letter.
Jena questioned Rahul Gandhi on whether he agreed on the suggestion of making social justice an election issue by declaring CM candidate from SC, ST and OBC communities.
Earlier in the day, Jena clarified that he will neither join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nor contest in the upcoming general elections this year. He said that he will promote candidates engaged in social justice campaigns in the upcoming elections.
It is to be noted that Jena will be participating in an event in Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar on January 31 along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
