Baripada,Dec.20 : In a bizarre incident, six ambulance staff were thrashed by locals after an ambulance van hit a trolley at Chauliasola Chhak on Udala-Baripada road in Mayurbhanj district last night.
Sources said a 108 ambulance was returning from a hospital here after admitting a patient from Udala at around 2 AM yesterday. Due to poor visibility for fog, the ambulance hit a stationary trolley on the roadside. Angry over this, few locals present on the spot dragged the driver, a pharmacist and an attendant out of the ambulance van and thrashed them black and blue.
While a police complaint has been lodged in this connection, staff of 108 ambulance have threatened to stage an agitation in coming days if action is not taken against the wrongdoers.
