Three more districts, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Ganjam, will now have access to the “Mo Bus” service, according to the Odisha government.
“The area of operation of the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) will be extended to the urban cluster areas covering Sambalpur-Jharsuguda-Belpahar and Berhampur-Gopalpur-Chhatrapur-Hinjilicut-Digapahandi for running Mo Bus service in the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Ganjam on Gross Cost Contract Model,” a notification issued by the Housing and Urban Development department said on Thursday.
When the CRUT begins operating Mo Buses in the aforementioned extended service areas, the Western Odisha Urban Transport Service Limited (WOUTSL) and the Ganjam Urban Transport Service Limited (GUTSL), which were established in 2013 to provide city bus service in the urban clusters of Sambalpur-Bargarh-Jharsuguda and Berhampur-Chhatrapur-Gopalpur-Hinjilicut, respectively, will be closed/dissolved through the process of voluntary winding
In several urban clusters in the Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, and Sundargarh districts, the CRUT currently operates Mo Bus.
