Last year, the renowned social worker was awarded the Padma Shri. PM Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, among others, expressed their condolences on her passing.

Shanti Devi, a well-known social worker and recipient of the Padma Shri award, died Friday night at his home in Gunupur, Odisha’s Rayagada district. She was 88 years old at the time. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and a number of other dignitaries paid tribute to the late Odisha social worker.
