Authorities of Anandpur College in Keonjhar district cancelled students’ union poll and declared sine die today following unrest in the college campus. Earlier on Tuesday night, a few miscreants hurled bombs at the college damaging properties.
Later, police personnel was deployed on the campus to avoid any further untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, violence erupted in Sharma Shakti College in Biramitrapur in Sundergarh district on Friday as scores of violent students vandalised the institution’s property and staged road blockade by burning tyres over the rejection of all nomination papers.
Following the rejection of nomination papers of some candidates, unrest surfaced at Deba Ray College in Bhubaneswar on Thursday as a result which the authorities declared sine die.
Rajdhani College authorities had declared sine die yesterday due to campus violence. Besides, students’ polls at MPC College in Baripada was also cancelled after some miscreants tried to create panic among students by lighting crackers.
Moreover, rejection of nomination papers also sparked displeasure among several students at Sailabala Women’s College in Cuttack.
