Bhubaneswar: After a high-level preparatory meeting on Cyclone Bulbul, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena has informed that all schools of Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur districts will remain closed on November 9.

In this preparatory meeting, SRC Jena said, “Two ODRAF teams each have been deployed in 9 districts. One NDRF team each have been despatched to six districts and fire services personnel kept on standby.”

Following this, Balasore district authorities have cancelled holiday of all govt officials for two days Friday and Saturday in view of Cyclone Bulbul.

Earlier, all schools and Anganwadi centres in Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada districts were noticed to remain closed for two days from tomorrow as a precautionary measure for the cyclonic storm ‘Bulbul’.

The decision on closure of schools will be taken after reviewing the situation tomorrow, an official said
