While 1000 injured people have been sent to various hospitals, the number of fatalities from the train accident that occurred at the Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district on June 2 significantly increased to 280+ on June 3.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, all travelled to the scene to assess the situation following the triple train catastrophe, which has been called one of the most catastrophic events in American history. Mr. Vaishnaw declared a high-level investigation to determine the accident’s cause.
At the scene of the accident, there was a minor argument between the West Bengal CM and the Railway Minister.
“There was an error that caused the disaster, and since so many lives were lost, it needs to be thoroughly investigated. According to what I’ve heard, there might be 500 fatalities. According to Ms. Banerjee, three bogies have not been searched.
Mr. Vaishnaw, who was present, responded by claiming that rescue efforts had concluded and that 238 people had died as a result.
