In Bhubaneswar, the Excise Department allegedly conducted raids at a number of bars and nightclubs that were staying open later than allowed.
A late-night Saturday surprise raid on the hotel led to the discovery of the widespread infraction. The concerned pub was discovered to be serving alcohol around 01:45 am during the inspection. According to current regulations, bars in the State are permitted to be open from midday until midnight.
Reborn Club and Kitchen was apparently open when officials raided it within the confines of Infocity Police Station. Despite the time restriction, patrons could be spotted inside the bar. The raid started around 12.45 in the morning.
Similar to this, Topnotch Bars in Zoris Botique Hotel, in the same neighbourhood were observed operating until late at around 2.30 am. More than 100 patrons were having fun at the bar and dance floor. Customers were being served food and alcohol up to this point by the employees.
