Congress president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to call on ailing DMK chief M Karunanidhi in Chennai Tuesday afternoon, the party’s Tamil Nadu chief Thirunavukkarasar said.
“Rahul Gandhi will be in Chennai at 4:30 pm to inquire the health of ailing Karunanidhi,” said Thirunavukkarasar. Gandhi will return o New Delhi after visiting the hospital.
DMK workers from various part of Tamil Nadu continued to throng Kauvery hospital for the fourth straight day on Tuesday. Hundreds of DMK workers from Coimbatore and Tiruppur district raised slogans for the speedy recovery of their leader.
Karunanidhi was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after a sudden fall in blood pressure. His family members including sons Stalin, M K Azhagiri and daughter M K Kanimozhi visited the hospital in the morning. DMK principle secretary Durai Murugan, former union ministers A Raja, and TR Baalu are also inside the hospital.
Thol Thirumavalavan, president, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) who met the DMK chief in the late Monday night said Karunanidhi was doing well.
