Puri Srimandir’s TikTok Video: Accused Girl Detained

Puri: In a major development of the Puri Srimandir’s video viral incident, police have detained the accused girl from Nimapara area in Puri district on charges of recording video inside premises of Lord Jagannath Temple.

According to reports, acting on complaints regarding the circulation of clips of Srimandir premise, the Singhadwar Police lodged a complaint and initiated a probe into the same.

Following the investigation, cops traced the girl, who posted the footage on video-sharing app TikTok and detained the girl from her home yesterday.

The girl is being interrogated by the police in order to extract how she captured the video, sources said.  Besides, cops are yet to divulge details regarding the case.

Notably, the video of the temple went viral on the short-video sharing app TikTok and the incident came to fore on October 28.

According to sources, the video shot near the Anandabazar features sevayats carrying Mahaprasad in slings of earthen pots. The clip was later posted on the TikTok account of a girl.

The incident is triggering sharp concerns over the security measures at the 12th-century shrine.
