Prithiviraj Harichandan’s Probe into Pandian’s Helicopter Expenses Ignites Controversy in Odisha

In a powerful move, Odisha’s Law Minister Shri. Prithiviraj Harichandan has announced a thorough investigation into the helicopter rides and expenses of V Karthikeyan Pandian, a former IAS officer turned BJD politician. Harichandan, one of the most influential ministers in Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s cabinet, aims to scrutinize the use of government funds for constructing helipads and granting permissions for helicopter use by a department secretary. This probe reflects Harichandan’s commitment to transparency and has stirred significant political debate across the state.

In response, the BJD has defended Pandian, asserting that his helicopter use was primarily for addressing public grievances and should not be politicized. BJD leader Sambit Routray warned that the probe could be used as a political tool, but with Prithiviraj Harichandan leading the charge, the investigation is likely to unfold with significant implications for Odisha’s political landscape.
