The greatest hope for the country is in our girls. According to President Draupadi Murmu, our daughters are achieving tremendous things, from becoming fighter pilots to space scientists.

The President noted that the energy of India’s youth, its farmers, and most importantly, its women, is the source of its newfound confidence in her first speech to the nation on the eve of Independence Day. Women are breaking through many glass walls and gender inequality is declining. Their growing influence in social and political processes will be significant. More than 14 lakh elected women members serve in Panchayati Raj institutions at the local level.

President Murmu urged Indians to put the country first in all of their decisions and endeavours, claiming that this is inevitable.

She gave the following statement in honour of tomorrow’s 76th Independence Day: “As we all commemorate that day’s anniversary, we bow to all those men and women who made tremendous sacrifices to enable us to live in a free India.

Murmu praised the government’s efforts to celebrate “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan,” saying that the Indian tricolour is flying everywhere in the nation. Great martyrs would have rejoiced at witnessing the Independence Movement’s spirit rekindling on such a grand scale.

She continued, “Our tribal heroes are not only local or regional legends; they inspire the entire nation. The government’s decision last year to mark November 15 as “Janajatiya Gaurav Divas” is appreciated.

Regarding the upcoming years, the President stated, “The lessons learned in the process (of the last 75 years) will prove useful as we move towards the next significant turning point in the history of the country – the Amrit Kaal, the 25-year mark leading up to the celebration of our Independence’s 100th anniversary.

We shall have achieved the goals set by our liberation fighters by the year 2047. We will have actualized the goals of those who wrote the Constitution under the direction of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.

The President also praised India’s response to the Covid battle on a global stage and expressed confidence in the country’s robust economy.
