Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health, has urged the Odisha government to approve the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) in the state.

“The state government has not yet approved the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna, which provides Rs 5 lakhs in insurance coverage to poor patients. I request that the Odisha state government approve it “On Sunday, Pravin Pawar stated.

Pawar was speaking after the inauguration of a multi-utility ..

“The government is working to expand AIIMS facilities across India under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Union Health Minister. AIIMS Bhubaneswar is doing excellent work in the fields of medical education, healthcare, and research “Pawar stated.

So far, 30 of the 33 states have agreed to the co-branding plan, with the exception of Delhi, Odisha, and West Bengal, which have opted out.

PMJAY, which was launched on September 23, 2018, provides eligible families with an annual health cover of Rs 5 lakh.

West Bengal withdrew from the scheme in 2019, accusing the central government of taking all of the credit.

Mamata Banerjee stated that she would be willing to rejoin if the Centre fully funded the scheme.

The health ministry recently announced that the National Health Authority (NHA), the administrative authority for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), the tertiary care arm of Ayushman Bharat (AB), has decided to bring greater integrity and uniformity into the beneficiary cards issued under the scheme by renaming them ‘Ayushman cards.’
