Gandhi’s birth anniversary is celebrated in India as Gandhi Jayanti, and across the globe the day is observed as the International Day of Non-Violence.
A series of activities are being organized in the KISS campus to mark the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, KISS and KIIT founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said, ” Gandhian ideals and philosophy have been reflected in KISS. Students at KISS are educated on Gandhian philosophy.”
“Students of KISS follow the Father of Nation, Bapuji — his simple lifestyle, non-violence, punctuality and truthfulness have inspired the students most,” he added.
More than 1000 poets and writers from 82 countries including India arrived in the city to participate the 39th edition World Congress of Poets (WCP), organised by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University here.
KISS is a residential educational institute for tribal people. It provides free accommodation, study, career development, and healthcare to over 25,000 tribal students each year.
