New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received German Chancellor Angela Merkel at Rashtrapati Bhawan here on Friday morning.
Merkel landed in the national capital on Thursday night. She was received at the airport by Minister of State (MoS) Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh upon her arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here.
The German Chancellor is on a two-day official visit to India. During her stay in the capital she will hold bilateral talks with PM Modi on a host of issues.
The German premiere was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Presidential palace on Friday morning and later paid tribute at Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
The German Chancellor said: “I am delighted to be here in India. Germany-India are linked by very close ties. We have great respect for this vast country and its diversity”.
The topics on agenda during bilateral talks between the two sides are likely to include climate change, skill development, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, security and economy.
