Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayer at the iconic Muktinath Temple during his two-day visit to Nepal. He performed rituals according to the Hindu and Buddhist tradition as the temple is regarded sacred by the followers of both religions. He also greeted and interacted with people, who were waiting at the temple premises. PM Modi is the first foreign dignitary to pay homage at the main sanctum of Muktinath Temple, which is situated at an altitude of 3,710 metres on the foot of the Thorong La pass in Mustang district of Nepal. Earlier, PM Modi had visited the Janaki Temple and offered prayers. He wrote in the visitor’s book that his visit to the Janaki Temple is a memorable experience. PM Modi is visiting the Himalayan nation to strengthen the ties with its leadership. He also expressed India’s commitment towards the economic development of Nepal. “India stands firmly with our sisters and brothers of Nepal. We remain committed to doing everything that we can, which furthers the economic development of Nepal,” he tweeted.
