Baba Ramdev owned Patanjali launched messaging app Kimbho on Wednesday. Kimbho application is touted to be a competitor of the messaging app WhatsApp. The tagline of Kimbho is kept as ‘Ab Bharat Bolega’. However, the app in its first few hours of debut on Google Play store has reportedly been taken down. However, there is no offcial statement over why the Kimbho app has been taken down. But experts believe that the major security breach might be the reason why the app has been taken down.
A French security researcher on Twitter also called out the app for its unsafe user interface. He tweeted that the app was a security disaster as he was able to read and access messages of all the users.
Many users claim that they could not find the app on the play store.
Kimbho was launched on Wednesday. Patanjali’s spokesperson SK Tijarawala tweeted, ‘Now Bharat will speak. After launching sim cards, baba Ramdev has launched a new messaging application called Kimbho. Now Whats App will be given a competition. Our own #SwadeshiMessagingplatform. Download it directly from Google Play store.’
Earlier on May 27, Ramdev launched Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards, in alliance with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
Initially, only the employees and office bearers of Patanjali will be able to avail the benefits of the SIM card.
After its full-fledged launch, people will get discount of 10 percent on Patanjali products with this card.
This year, Patanjali Ayurved Limited has also been ranked as India’s most trusted Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) brand in the TRA’s Brand Trust Report 2018.
Prior to this, Baba Ramdev in a massive push for online availability of Patanjali Ayurveda’s products announced partnership with eight e-tailers.
Patanjali Ayurveda had tied-up with Amazon, Flipkart, ShopClues, bigbasket_com, 1mgOfficial, Grofers and NetMeds
These partnerships with etailers will be in addition to its own portal patanjaliayurved.net, where the company is selling its products online.
Some of Patanajali’s products are already available on several online platforms through various other sellers but this would allow the Haridwar-based firm to systematically place its range of products.
Patanjali had also announced to venturing into solar equipment manufacturing. Besides FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) segment, Patanjali Ayurved is present in other sectors such as education and healthcare.
