Passing Out Parade Of 2nd Batch DSPs At Biju Patnaik State Police Academy

Bhubaneswar: DGP BK Sharma took the salute at the passing out parade of the second batch of DSP-rank officers at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) here on Thursday.

As many as 16 DSPs probationers reported their joining at the BPSPA in 2017 in order to undergo two-years of basic course training.

They were directly recruited to the Odisha Police Service in the rank of DSP in the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2015 conducted by OPSC.

Initially their first phase basic course training continued for 10 months at BPSPA.

Primarily, they were imparted training on the subjects like criminal Major Acts (IPC, CrPC, Indian Evidence Act), Special and local Laws, Criminology, Crime prevention, Police in Modern India, Republic of India, Public Order, Traffic and Security, Investigation & Trial methods and Skills, Human Behaviour and Relationship Management and Jurisprudence and legal concepts and Constitution of India after completion of their institutional training they appeared at the final examination held in the month of April 2018.

After their examination, they attended Anti-Extremist and Tactics course (AET) at SOG Chandaka from 16.5.2018 to 31.8.2018 and thereafter they did their field and practical training in the different assigned district from 17.9.2018 to 24.6.2019.

After the successful field training their 2nd and final phase institutional training was conducted at BPSPA.

During the period, the probationers have been exposed to different state and central police organizations such as SP Signal, SP, Headquarter, Dept of Home Guard & Fire Services, State Vigilance, PMT, CID, CB(STF/E0W), Police Commissionerate, Intelligence Dept, IB BBSR, CBI BBSR, ED BBSR, CRPF,BBSR, SFSL BBSR and SCRB,BBSR.

  12. Ritesh Kumar Mahapatra
  13. K.Kondadora Hari Prasad
  14. Santa Nutan Sambad
  15. Mahendra Nath Murmu
  16. Debajyoti Dash

After the parade, medals and prizes were awarded to the successful winners as per the details below:

  1. Himansu Bhusan Behera as Best Probationer a Trophy for Best Probationer in Indoor Subjects
  2. Dillip Kumar Das as the second Best Probationer for second best in Outdoor subjects and NICFS medal for securing the highest mark in Forensic science.
  3. KK Hari Prasad as second best Probationer in Indoor Subjects
  4. Satyavikash Bhuyan as Best Probationer in Outdoor subjects and NICFS medal for securing the highest mark in criminology.
  5. Snehashis Sahoo as Best Probationer in the AET training course.
