Washington: The US State Department in a report has claimed that Pakistan has “failed to significantly limit” terror funding in banned outfits.

These home-grown terror organizations are Lashkar e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

The ‘Country Reports on Terrorism 2018’ released by the US Department of State Bureau of Counterterrorism, America has called out Pakistan’s bluff on its claims that it is acting against terrorism.

The US report said: “The government of Pakistan has failed to significantly limit Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad from raising money, recruiting, and training in Pakistan – and allowed candidates overtly affiliated with LeT front organisations to contest the July general elections (in which Imran Khan was elected as Prime Minister last year)”.

The report further claimed that Islamic nation failed to “restrict the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network (HQN) from operating in Pakistan-based safe havens and threatening US and Afghan forces in Afghanistan”.
