New Delhi, November 20: The opposition parties have criticized BJP president Amit Shah’s remarks on the apex court ruling on Sabarimala shrine issue.

Shah has allegedly commented on the verdict to which the opposition termed as “frivolous and ignorant”.

They said Shah has insulted the Supreme Court. The Congress said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership is “diluting and decimating” India’s institutions. The CPI-M said Shah’s comments on Kerala government were blatant display of his autocratic attitude.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), on the other hand, requested the Supreme Court to take cognisance of the matter. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused Shah for creating anarchy in the country.

The BJP president had on Saturday said passing of such a verdict by the Supreme Court has gone against the people. Shah also threatened Kerala government with dire consequences if it ever tried to mess with issues of faith.

The opposition said the threat of toppling the Kerala government is another display of the anti-democratic attitude of Amit Shah.

Mayawati urged the Supreme Court to take cognisance of Shah’s comments. The Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal in his tweet accused Shah of creating anarchy and encouraging people to indulge in violation.
