On February 10, President Droupadi Murmu will pay a two-day visit to Odisha.
During her two-day visit to the state, she will attend the second convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University in the state capital.
According to sources, it was the President herself who expressed interest in attending her alma mater’s convocation and wrote to the University’s Governor and Chancellor, Ganeshi Lal, expressing her willingness to do so.
Murmu’s visit to Odisha will be his second since assuming the highest office in India in July 2022.
According to the President’s itinerary, she will arrive in Bhubaneswar around 11.45 a.m. on February 10 to attend a function commemorating the Foundation Day of the Jnanaprabha Mission. She is scheduled to attend Rama Devi Women’s University’s Second Convocation in the afternoon.
Murmu received her diploma from Rama Devi Women’s College in 1979. She was awarded an honorary degree at the college’s first convocation after it was upgraded to a full-fledged university.
On day two, the President will begin her day with a visit to the Lord Lingaraj temple in the state capital, followed by a function to inaugurate the 2nd Indian Rice Congress at the National Rice Research Institute in Cuttack.
The President previously visited Tapoban High School, Unit-II Government Girls High School, and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Adivasi Girls Hostel Unit-II in Bhubaneswar, where she received her education.
On her first visit, she also went to the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri.
