According to central minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will travel to Odisha on August 8 to attend a celebration honouring the 75th anniversary of the publication of the Odia daily “Prajatantra,” which was started by renowned freedom fighter and former chief minister Harekrushna Mahatab.
Throughout the day, Pradhan presided over a conference in Cuttack to evaluate the preparations being made in advance of Shah’s visit.
To assess the setup, he also went to the Indoor Stadium, where the programme is supposed to take place.
The 75th anniversary of Prajatantra falls within the nation’s 75th year of Independence. The President of India this year is an Odia by birth. At this time, Shah’s visit to Odisha is significant, the Union Minister of Education stated.
The editor of the daily is currently Bhartruhari Mahatab, a former Lok Sabha member who was dropped by the BJD due to conflicts with the party hierarchy.
At Janakinath Bhavan in Cuttack, the revolutionary leader Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthplace, Pradhan, who is in the state for a two-day visit, paid tribute to him.
“Netaji’s birthplace, Janakinath Bhawan, which is currently a museum, is nothing less than a holy place. Pradhan added, “I am privileged to have returned to this holy spot today to pay homage to a wonderful son of India, a national hero, and an example of bravery and sacrifice.
He declared that Netaji will always be admired for his motivating leadership abilities, nationalism, and specific objectives for India’s freedom.
As part of the festivities for the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” Pradhan participated in the “Tiranga Padyatra” earlier in the day in Dhenkanal.
