Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the recipients of the National Teachers’ Awards including Omprakash Mishra from Jeypore in Koraput district of Odisha on Tuesday, on the eve of National Teachers’ Day.
48-year-old Om Prakash Mishra, who began his teaching career from Mathapada high school under Boipariguda block in 1998, made science practical classes in rural schools of Koraput possible with his idea of using local resources.
“Met Shri Omprakash Mishra Ji from Jeypore in Koraput district of Odisha. I salute him for his sheer determination to educate students in one of the remotest areas of our country. His effective use of school labs and technology in teaching of science and mathematics is noteworthy”, Modi tweeted.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu today conferred the National Teachers’ Awards to 45 teachers who were acknowledged for their innovative work in education.
