In the backdrop of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan emerged as a dynamic and visionary leader, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to the Indian diaspora. Harichandan highlighted the significance of the PM’s address, emphasizing the pivotal role of the diaspora in shaping India’s development, particularly in the eastern states like Odisha.

Speaking to Media, Minister Harichandan lauded the PM’s efforts to foster stronger connections between the diaspora and their homeland. He noted, “The best thing is that the PM has appealed to the Indian diaspora across the globe that in the development of the nation, and in the eastern part of India, their role is very important. He invited them to come and visit to understand the history, culture, and heritage of India as well as Odisha and to explore opportunities for entrepreneurship here.”
By emphasizing Odisha’s untapped potential, Harichandan showcased his dynamic approach to leveraging global partnerships. His focus on entrepreneurship and cultural heritage aligns with Odisha’s strategy to position itself as a key destination for investment and innovation.

He pointed to the theme of this year’s convention, “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat,” as a reflection of Odisha’s commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth.
Harichandan emphasized, “The PM’s call for the diaspora to visit India frequently is a clarion call for global collaboration. Odisha is ready to play its part in this journey, offering unmatched opportunities for investment, cultural exchange, and development.”
