Large and heavy industries are coming to Odisha, but the state needs MSMEs, which will create more jobs.

Pratap Keshari Deb, Minister of Industries, MSME, and Energy, called on young and promising entrepreneurs and industry bodies to come forward and suggest changes to the State’s industrial policy for better results on Sunday.

Deb stated at the Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME) Propack Odisha 2022 and MSME Odisha 2022 that Odisha has the best infrastructure for industries. Large and heavy industries are coming to Odisha, but the state needs MSMEs, which will create more jobs.

He believes that the younger generation must take risks and not rely solely on government support. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra stated that the State government intends to establish MSME parks in each district, for which IDCO has been allocated approximately Rs 450 crore to develop the necessary infrastructure.

“MSMEs will receive full infrastructure support, including land, electricity, water, and other provisions in district parks.” Finances to MSMEs have increased by approximately 30%. “The Chief Minister has met with bankers twice to strengthen credit support,” he said.

Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary of Finance, emphasised the importance of lending support to small and medium enterprises, saying the government has been working with PSU banks to ensure finance availability.
