The Odisha government has declared that it will promote the game’s advancement and build a stadium and high-performance facility.
Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, declared on Wednesday that his administration will assist the game’s development and build a stadium and high-performance centre.
While congratulating the Odisha Juggernauts for “scripting history” by winning the inaugural Ultimate Kho Kho League, Patnaik made this declaration.
He gave the squad a total cash prize of Rs 2 crore during the felicitation event held today evening at Kalinga Stadium in this city.
“You scripted history with your triumph at the Ultimate Kho Kho,” the chief minister remarked. “This will be remembered and talked for days to come.” Kho Kho has traditionally been a sport played only in rural areas and in interior regions with small audiences.
Today, people are talking about Ultimate Kho Kho and Odisha Juggernauts, and we feel immensely proud of our team, he added. “It will also inspire the future players to pursue it as a professional sport.”
CEO of Ultimate Kho Kho Tenzing Nyogi gave the CM the team gold medal.
Sudhanshu Mittal, president of the Kho Kho Federation of India, praised the inspiration, zeal, and support Odisha is giving the sport and their squad. He claimed that Kho Kho needed this support from all states.
