The eBiz portal covering 14 G2B services with a common application form and an integrated payment gateway was launched at Odisha Investors’ meet in Mumbai as a part of the Make in India week.
These services will enable the investor to set up an industry from the comfort of their offices, eliminating all physical touch points for all investment related services. With the launch of this online platform, Odisha has become a torch bearer in the country in making business easy for investors. “By being the only State in the country to implement eBiz, Odisha has shown the way to other States and provided a template for digital interventions,” said Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
The meet also marked the launch of a unique online portal, Central Inspection Framework for Industries. The framework is designed to enable synchronised inspections by regulatory agencies and random selection of industries based on their risk profile.
The framework also mandates random allocation of inspectors and the inspection report to be uploaded within 48 hours of completion of the inspection. To further ensure the transparency of the system, the online system has provision for industries to view reports and raise concerns in case of any discrepancy with the inspection. Launching the portal, NITI Aayog Member Bibek Debroy termed this as a significant development and lauded Odisha for providing a template for the other States to emulate.
This reform, the first in the country, is expected to ease business operations and bring about transparency and objectivity in inspection processes.
